Jesse Yip has been passionately teaching and inspiring dancers for over two decades, continuously expanding his knowledge and refining his teaching techniques with a strong emphasis on leading, partner connection, musicality, and creativity in both salsa and bachata. His dance journey began in 2001 under the instruction of Caribbean Soul’s Ismael Otero and Yesenia Peralta, where he built the strong foundation that continues to shape his teaching today.

Known for his originality, Jesse creates his own partnerwork patterns and combinations, blending technique, flow, and creativity into a style that is uniquely his own. In 2006, he founded Signatura Dance Company, providing dancers with opportunities to perform, grow, and challenge themselves. In 2015, he fulfilled another dream by opening Step Up Dance Studio—a place dedicated to building confidence, community, and a genuine love for Latin dance.

At Step Up, Jesse’s mission extends far beyond teaching patterns. His goal is to develop confident, skilled social dancers who can comfortably dance with anyone, anywhere. Through his student performance teams, dancers gain valuable experience while continuing to strengthen their technique, teamwork, and stage presence in a supportive environment.

What truly sets Jesse apart is his hands-on teaching style. He believes every student deserves personal attention and takes the time to work one-on-one during class, ensuring each dancer receives the guidance they need to improve.
